Visitor Guides and Publications

Despite the opportunity to acquire information via the internet, people still rely on tangible products to keep as reference, to carry in a pocket or handbag – perhaps as a memento of a trip or to pass on with a recommendation. Many prefer the written word on the printed page as a form of communication, to inspire and inform, taking a booklet with them on a journey.

Having produced a number of visitor guides, working with the destinations including Hamble Valley, Southampton and the New Forest, Walking Distance understand the importance of providing information in a manner that best connects with the reader and encourages a direct response.

Our graphic design service incorporates the spirit of the destination along with an understanding of the target audience to produce vibrant and eyecatching visitor publications.

These include:

  • Southampton Pocket Guide and City Map
  • Hamble Valley Visitor Guide, River Directory and Official map
  • New Forest Official Map and Cycle Map
  • Christchurch Visitor Map
  • Hampshire's Top Attractions leaflet
We recognise too that arriving at a destination is not the end of the journey. Other products in our range are designed specifically to enhance a visitor experience, and encourage them to stay by presenting them with more choices of things to do and places to see. The information is presented in situ, to be shared with others.

These include:
  • Room Folders
Stylish and informative presentation packs in guest bedrooms
  • Page One
Highly visible and funky 'what's on' posters around Southampton
  • Visitor Interpretation Panels
Look out for these in car-parks and public places in the Hamble Valley and the New Forest.
